Scrubbing the Floors

Most people that know me know that I like to be clean. I frequently blame it on my neat freak mom, but its true. I do like things neat and organized and clean. This can turn me into quite a "Martha" but that's a story for another day. Today I had the afternoon off because Amaya came down with pink eye (also a story for another day.) While Amaya was sleeping I decided that I was going to scrub the floors on my hands and knees. Usually my cleaning lady or I will use the swiffer, but I don't feel like it does an adequate job at getting all of the gunk up. Now, If you asked my mom how much I liked to do this she would laugh! I HATE scrubbing the floors. It was one of my chores as a kid and I complained every time and tried to bribe my brother to do it. Well, my floors really needed it today so I got to work. I swept, took all the rugs up, chairs went in the living room and I scrubbed away and then did the bathroom floors! The good part about all of this is that I LOVE when all of the floors have been scrubbed. They feel so clean and I can walk on them in my bare feet and I want them to stay clean forever so that I don't have to do it again. HA! That is NOT happening with a toddler. So, for today my floors are clean and I'm going to enjoy it to the fullest. So, I guess the point of the story is that no matter what cleaning product comes out...there is nothing better than your good old hands and knees and some hot water and soap!

I remember your house as a kid, always spotless! The thought of me getting down there now to do that makes me cringe. Maybe mine will get done this summer :)
