As soon as January 1 hit I had the urge to start organizing more spaces in the house. We live in a relatively small house and I am constantly attempting to find more storage space. Last week I cleaned out the cupboards in the laundry room and got rid of unnecessary items. This week I tackled the linen closet. I swear I had gone through it last spring when I spring cleaned, but obviously not. It was a disaster! So where did I go for inspiration? Pinterest of course. I found a closet that was similar in size to mine and based my closet off of that. Click here to see the closet. Then I took a trip to target and with the help of my awesome friend Amy I picked out a few containers to help organize. I came home and got to work (ok well after I took care of the kids and got them down for a nap).

It took everything out and layed it out on my bed. I separated the things that needed thrown out and the things that I wanted to keep. Then I began to organize them into bins.

Once everything was in a container I could rearrange the closet. It took several times and a little help from my husband but this is what we came up with. I might still do a little tweaking but it is MUCH better and more organized. Excuse the non matching towels but that's how we roll! This is before I labeled all of the containers, but that also helps a lot as well. Now we know where to find our items such as medicine, lotion, or toothbrushes. Pinterest project complete. Now on to the bathroom cabinets and the pantry!

I'm also in an organizing mood!!!! We just got home from a trip to visit family in CO and I told my husband that, as soon as we got home, he better let me know if there was anything specific he didn't want me to get rid of :-). This house is going to have fewer things SOON!!!! ~Pam~
Kudos to you on the clean closet and the labeled bins. David is still wondering when I'll label the bins in our linen closet. I only organized it 18 months ago!! My biggest accomplishment was downsizing the amount of towels. For three people we had something like 10 sets of towels complete with wash clothes and hand towels. It was crazy!
