Spring Is In The Air

I really can't believe that it is already April!  The last few weeks have been full of activities!  We've slowly been getting more involved at church and are really thankful for the people there that God has brought into our lives.  They have been so very encouraging to our family in this time of transition.  We thank God for that huge blessing!  Josh will be starting to get more involved with the worship team at church, and I am looking forward to singing with the choir at Easter (praying my vocal cords hold up with the nodule issue).  I was also able to attend a moms event at church, which I really enjoyed. We learned all about making our own laundry detergent and saving lots of money (I am totally all for saving money these days!!). I had lots of fun getting to meet more moms at church too.  I hope to attend another session soon.

We also hosted small group at our house which was fun.  Here is a pic of the kids towards the end with sleepy eyes watching something on the ipad.

Josh and I had the opportunity to go out on a special date night to see "The Sing Off" live!  A huge shout out to Shelly for coming over and watching our kids.  The concert was in a small venue downtown.  There were a few bar stools and a balcony but most people stood to watch the show.  I'm not sure I'd want to be there in a packed house, but it was perfect for this concert and I got a nice spot on the steps so that I could see.  There were three main groups and then a guest group from Colorado. They were all impressive although my favorite group was Voice Play. They are known as a "theatrical accapella" group. They did a really cool scene acting out riding in a car, but only used their voices to make sounds (like the car stopping and starting and the wind when the windows were down, and then songs on the radio as they were driving). It was my personal favorite.  We really had a great time.

Last week was also Amaya's Spring Break from preschool so I wanted to plan some fun activities.  We ended up visiting some friends from church, then meeting some new friends that have also adopted from ET at the park, and taking a trip to the zoo, spending some time at home, visiting our friends Brent and Jessica and Lily, and eating dinner with the neighbors! It really was a fun filled week.

Apparently I didn't actually take any pics of the kids at the park but just of the gorgeous view.

The weekend after spring break was nice enough to get out to the yard.
Oh my SO MUCH work to do out there.
Josh and I laugh that we always buy houses that need tons of yard work. These pictures are making me laugh right now as I look outside at the 4-6 inches of snow on the ground.

We also had a chance to get do a little shopping and get some new "kicks" for Amaya.  She loves em.

We worked on her project for preschool

Got this in the mail! We are all so excited for Aunt Ali and future Uncle Mike!
I also took my first attempt at French Braiding. Ok, not perfect, BUT it was my first time right?

AND it was daddy's birthday!!  YAY!!
We had fun going out to dinner and celebrating together.

Daddy and B both had the ribs. YUM.

This also frequently happened at meal time.  Gave me a good laugh!

Once again, I am so thankful for all of the blessings God has shown us in the last three months.  Although the transition isn't easy, we have already seen God move in awesome ways.  From great neighbors to a wonderful community at church, I am at times overwhelmed by God's provisions.  I have learned to never say never and to be willing to go and do whatever God is calling us to do no matter how hard it might seem.  I'm thankful for my husband's leading in things that I at times wanted to say "never" to! Speaking of which...we are also seriously considering homeschooling Amaya using "Classical Conversations" next year.  The details of how all of this came about are another blog post in itself, but it was once again God gently nudging us in ways we weren't sure we were/are ready to be nudged and orchestrating the details in a matter of a few weeks! We are excited, nervous, and frightened all at the same time, but are completely trusting in God's leading once again! More on that soon. For now, it is April and we are anxiously looking forward to soccer season and hopefully some warm days sprinkled in there with the snow.
