Thankful

It has been a little bit of a whirl wind around here as of late!  We weren't quite expecting B to have such a hard time after surgery.  The doctor's told us that kids are usually up jumping around and happy the next day.  Um, not the case.  We are so thankful that MiMi was here to help for a few days.  We are also thankful that the surgery went well and B has not snored ONCE since the adenoids were removed!  YAY!  We will return in 2 weeks for a check up with the ENT just to make sure things look good.  During surgery that did find that he also has something called Laryngomalasia.  Basically the cartilage on the bottom of the vocal cords is a little flappy and can also cause noise breathing.  It usually corrects itself but if it doesn't there is surgical procedure to correct it.  After a few rough days/nights the little man has been sleeping better the last two nights and we are very thankful for that! He has also been his happy smiley self the last 2 days with LOTS of hugs and kisses for us (random fact: an Adenoidectomy causes serious bad breath for a few weeks. YIKES). We can definitely tell that he is started to feel better.  Again we are so thankful.  As we approach this Thanksgiving day we Thank God for family.  We thank him for adoption. We thank him for adopting us as His.  One of my best friend's texted the following note to me just a few days ago.  Thought it was such a good reminder of how loved we are by the Father.

"Read Isaiah 41:10 - fear not for I am with you.  Be not dismayed for I am your God.
Kept thinking of how you guys are looking out for his best and taking care of him for his future but right now it hurts and he doesn't know why.  But realized that in a way that is exactly what Christ does with us.  We go through things and we fuss and complain because we don't know or understand why but we can rest assured that He is doing it for our best and we can lean on the fact that there is always a reason and a higher purpose in our lives."

I've been praying for you guys--sorry B has had such a hard time sleeping, but it will be worth it in the long run!
